Description Guided Wave Horn Radar Level Sensor Transmitter
A radar level sensor operates by emitting a focused microwave
pulse, which travels at the speed of light through space. When this
pulse encounters the surface of the substance being measured, a
portion of its energy is reflected back towards the sensor's
antenna. The same antenna that transmitted the pulse then receives
the reflected signal.
The time delay between the transmission of the pulse and the
reception of the reflected pulse is directly proportional to the
distance from the antenna to the surface of the substance being
measured. By calculating this time delay, the sensor can determine
the precise distance from the antenna to the surface of the
substance, providing accurate level measurement information.
